Training Your Dog to Lie Down / Lay Down Video
There are many other commands that your dog should learn after your dog has learned to sit. I think the second important command is training your dog to lie down / lay down.
For training your dog to lie down / lay down, start with sitting or kneeling close to your dog when he is sitting. Keep a treat nearby his mouth, then slowly move it down. Your dog will focus on it and in the process lie down. If he does, say the command “down” when he starts to lie down. You need to continue doing this training some times until your dog can lie down only by your command and no treat needed.
